What a week! In addition to my usual activities and my regular photography session at the Benton Franklin Humane Society, the fall semester began, I was interviewed for the Tri-City Herald and I attended an artist reception for the WSU Tri-Cities Chancellor’s Exhibition Series. This week also marks the first time since moving to Washington that I’ve been able to get my own dogs into the studio.

The exhbition is open to the public through December 19, 2008 in the East Building. Hours are 7:00 am to 10:00 pm weekdays and 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays. For more information, please visit the WSU website at http://www.tricity.wsu.edu/artgallery/current.html.
The Tri-City Herald interview came as a complete surprise this week as I was contacted by reporter Joe Chapman about my work with the Benton Franklin Humane Society. As Joe explained to me, he and others at the Tri-City Herald have noticed that my photos are being submitted to the paper regularly by the Benton Franklin Humane Society staff and thought that my involvement with the humane society might make an interesting story for one of their weekly sections. After discussing my work with him about the animals this week, he and a staff photographer will be joining me next Tuesday to see me in action. I am very excited for the opportunity to share with the Tri-Cities how important my work with humane society animals is to me and I hope that my story will convince others to think about adoption first when they decide to get their next pet.
