If ‘flat out like a lizard drinking’ means very busy then are the common side-blotched lizards of Tucson just laid back?

Maybe the new expression should be ‘flat out like a lizard running from a terrier’ because chasing lizards is Spring’s new favorite past time.

Hailey at the Arizona Greyhound Rescue – Tucson Photographer Michael Kloth

This past Friday I had the great pleasure of shooting my first session for the Arizona Greyhound Rescue. While the rescue mainly works to place retired racers into loving homes, they occasionally will work with shelters and other rescue organizations to help greyhound mixes find loving homes. It was in this way that Hailey came to AGR last October and was made an honorary greyhound.

Hailey is probably best described as a lab/greyhound mix and is thought to be eight years old. She has gone through basic obedience and she knows all of the basics. Hailey has been living with AGR volunteer coordinator Sarah since she came to the rescue severely underweight. Sarah has helped her reach a healthy weight and now she has lots of love and energy to share. Hailey is great with people but not so much with cats and other dogs so it is probably best for her to go to a family with no other pets.

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Thunder and Lightning Air Show, Tucson, Arizona

This past weekend I had the great pleasure of visiting the Thunder and Lightning air show at the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. I only live a couple miles away (as the jet flies) from the base and my house is pretty directly in their landing approach so I get my own personal air show on a regular basis. Even more so in the days leading up to Thunder and Lightning but it was a real treat to see some of these aircraft up close.

Also while I’m on the subject, I’d like to extend my deepest gratitude to the men and women serving in the United States military. Thank you for all that you do in the service of our country.
